When you think of an abayah, what mostly comes to mind is an oversized stunning piece. Most especially, it is that one clothing that is celebrated everyday by Muslims.
The concept of having or owning an abayah is perceived as something which complements the deen.
Who wouldn’t love a piece that brings together modesty, elegance, luxury, sophistication, comfort and uniqueness?
Yesterday was the Muslim festival/celebration (Eid al Fitr) that stands for the end of Fasting period (Ramadan). So, I went for this really gorgeous abayah. Looking through my pictures, I realized I wore the abayah 2 different ways which really made me look extra gorgeous and this could be quite helpful to you as well:
- In a gown form:
A brooch can really turn your abayah into a nice looking gown without even stressing yourself.
Just find a good spot on your abayah to pin it in. Try going for a nice catchy piece with gold finishing or pop of color.
In fact, you can even change the brooch to a rope/belt that will be tied around the abayah. Regardless, all this will end up turning your abayah to a gown-like piece.
- In a Jacket form:
There will be moments you just need that outer garment to compliment the inner clothing. It could be during those indecisive dinner night outings or family get-together.
Yes, this is where your abayah can be worn in a jacket form either over your skirt, trouser or even palazzo. give you that touch of modesty, simplicity and style.
For instance, I wore mine with a black basic pallazo, sleevless top and heels. The beauty is in the abayah itself, so keep the inner as simple as possible.
That’s it lovelies.
