Peplum tops have been in vogue for as long as I can remember. The perception that peplum tops are not suitable for all body shapes especially plus size women contributed to the fear I had for the style in general. However, I had to come to terms with the reality that they are not going to fade away anytime soon.
You should know by now how much I adore prints pattern from my previous fashion posts. September went quite fast and I realized that there wasn’t really that much “ME’ time. Hence, I wanted to try different things by going outside my comfort zone ranging from fashion to food.
After the decision to wear peplum tops more often, I eventually stumbled upon this gorgeous set from TOSFA. Tobi Ogundipe Styling & Fashion Agency (TOSFA) is the First African Plus Size Fashion and Styling Agency based in Lagos, Nigeria. They make really stunning, affordable and very quality clothes for curvy women in Nigeria. Most especially, no size discrimination; as they even offer customization to suit your needs.
Having found their Katherine Set which included this gorgeous jacquard peplum top and a white plus size wide leg pants; I fell right in love with the whole concept.
Peplum tops really help in empathizing and bringing focus to the waist. Thus, it compliments almost all body shapes perfectly. Peplum tops have been said not to give discomforts. Not only do you feel confident but also bold as well.
It is fair enough to say that I eventually agree with that idea. Especially peplum tops that have the flare starting from the waist area and dropping down below. As such, the flare around the waist creates a shield to the stomach section.
Can you recall the top I wore to the Blogger Point Brunch in August? Oh well, that is the beauty of purchasing Two piece Co-Ord sets. You get to pair them separately with other outfits or together.
Plus Size Wide Leg Pants are great for both corporate/professional outings and casual day out. They are often associated with flowy, comfortable and oversized feel. To be honest, there aren’t any size restrictions when it comes to wide leg pants. As the name goes “WIDE”, so don’t shy away from the gorgeous piece because of fear that it might make you appear wider.
At most, in order for me to be very free and comfortable, I often go a size up in my pants or trousers. However, this TOSFA wide leg pants was very true to size without being too tight. So, I hope you can overcome that fear and just try out whatever you desire.
Do you like peplum tops and what do you like pairing it with the most?
