After all the struggle and finally hitting the jackpot that aligns with your values; it is very normal to start viewing yourself as some kind of superior being who got to the heights you are all by your intelligence and hard work.
Then you also get to meet some other people who would revere you and be willing to worship at your feet because they think you are special. You find your appetite changing and gradually you are beginning to.
Thus, the tips to being successful without losing focus on your values are carefully highlighted below.
1. Make a Decision:
Everything begins with a decision. What do you really want to achieve? How do you want to be perceived?
If you do not make up your mind to stay focused on your values irrespective of your status, it might be a lot difficult to expect that from yourself.
Hence, make a decision to retain your values at all cost and make a conscious effort to ensure that you keep to that.
2. Create a personal vision statement:
A personal vision statement simply put, is a guide for one’s life. It should provide you with the direction required to map out the course of your life.
Not only that, it also guides the choices you make about your career or business.
3. Create a Vision Board in line with your personal vision statement:
A vision board is a visual representation of where you are going. Vision boards are a powerful tool for helping you to focus on your values, goals, and dreams.
Have your vision board visible to you where your eyes will feast on it often. Because visualization is one of the most powerful mind exercises that evokes the law of attraction.
4. Don’t feed your ego:
Like I mentioned earlier, it is very human to begin to feel superior when you have attained a certain level of success and the people around have never even dreamed of it. To help yourself stay focused, you might have to surround yourself with people who tell you the truth. And not people who adore you in such a way that they would never cough around you.
Learn to ask for other people’s opinion and also cultivate the habit of learning other things that others know better than you. This has a way of reminding you that you are not superior to other people and that everyone is equally an expert in something.
If you commit to this alone, you will find out that you will grow to respect people equally.
5. Stay honest:
It’s not really about you. It’s not really by your power that you achieved all that you have achieved.
There are people who work as hard as you. Even harder but have not recorded as much success as you have recorded. There are others who are much smarter than you are but probably didn’t get the opportunities that you have.
Time and chance have a role to play in all of these. See why you can’t take the glory all by yourself?
Remember that as you develop and progress through life, your values are what define you. Do everything in your power to keep those values true to who you want to be.
What are your values and how have you being able to maintain focus in them over the long-run?
